Hitachi Construction Machinery and Komatsu Construction Machinery divide the popularity of self-propelled soil conditioners into two groups. Komatsu's method combines cutting and impact in the mixing chamber and mixes the material through a series of processes. A number of cutters and free hammers are attached to a shaft that rotates at high speed, pounding the solidified material step by step.
